WELCOME TO MD&C

The MD&C forensic anthropology meetings are an opportunity for forensic anthropologists working or researching in mountain, desert, or coastal regions to come together to relax, share stories, meet new anthropologists, and talk about recent research. Our organization is comprised of professionals and students and has been meeting annually for the last 27 years. The MD&C meetings are the oldest running regionally-based forensic anthropology meetings.

The key to MD&C’s longevity? An excellent balance of attendance, research, good stories, and of course, beer. This fun and informal one of a kind meeting takes place at the end of May at Lake Mead, Nevada.  The small, intimate nature of the meeting allows for open discussion and analysis of the presentations and topics that come up.  The meetings occur over a three day span and include lectures, case analysis presentations, and outdoor activities such as a short hike to see human cremains and a bar-b-que on the final night of the meeting.
