FOIL is a research laboratory at the University of California, Santa Cruz, under the direction of Dr. Alison Galloway. FOIL researchers specialize in forensic anthropology, a sub field of physical anthropology which specializes in the analysis of human skeletal material resulting from unexplained or questionable deaths in a medico legal context. As well as being a forensic research laboratory, FOIL provides their services to law enforcement to help with ongoing casework.
